Sammilani Paris India Reading Center Aims Non-profit association regulated by the 1901 French Law under No. 05412 of 30 July 1980 Registered Office: 6 allée de Québec, 91300 Massy Sammilani – India Reading Center is a non-profit making association regulated by the 1901 French Law on Non-profit Associations. Its aim is to promote better understanding and knowledge of the cultural, economic and scientific aspects of Indian life. Founded by a group of Indians hailing from Bengal desirous of maintaining contact with their country of birth, the association is also keen on opening up to all other cultures of the sub-Continent. One of its earliest undertakings was the creation of a Bengali language library to which were subsequently added works about India in French and English. The library also has a collection of musical discs and cassettes, and video cassettes, CDs and DVDs. The "India Reading Center" also organises conferences and seminars on subjects dealing with India and on general subjects of interest. Sammilani meets twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Sundays at 4:30 pm at the premises graciously provided by the Municipality of Massy at Centre Paul Bailliart, 6 allée du Québec, 91300 Massy. |
